YAML ↔ JSON Converter

Convert YAML to JSON, JSON to YAML or JSON5 to JSON. Set indentation and line endings, check data against your JSON Schema, then copy or download the result.

YAML ↔ JSON Converter

Move configuration data between YAML and JSON, or normalize JSON5 into JSON. For example, the YAML mapping enabled: true becomes {"enabled":true} in JSON. Choose the source format explicitly when automatic detection does not match your input; Auto treats an opening { or [ as JSON and otherwise selects YAML.

Conversion rebuilds the document from parsed values, so comments and original formatting are not retained. Inspect value types before using the output. The separate schema action checks data against a supplied JSON Schema using the 2020-12 validator; it does not prove that an application will accept the configuration. The source, schema and settings are saved in this browser’s local storage, and a shared link includes the source.

Features

  • Convert YAML to JSON, JSON to YAML or JSON5 to JSON.
  • Choose 2, 4 or 8-space indentation, formatted output, LF/CRLF and optional UTF-8 BOM.
  • Validate data separately against a JSON Schema you provide.
  • Copy or download the result; resume a locally saved draft or share its source in a link.

How to use

  1. Paste the source and select YAML, JSON, JSON5 or Auto. Try enabled: true in YAML mode.
  2. Choose output formatting and convert. The example should produce an enabled property with boolean true.
  3. If needed, paste a compatible JSON Schema and run the separate schema check.
  4. Review types and missing comments, then copy or download. Check the source for secrets before sharing its link.
