URL Encoder & Decoder

Encode or decode a URL component or whole URI. Escape Unicode and spaces, preserve separators when needed, and copy the percent-encoded result.

Component mode escapes URL separators. Whole URI mode preserves : / ? # & = and other reserved separators. JavaScript encode/decode URI functions are used; spaces become %20, and + is not treated as a space. No URL validity or form-query parsing is performed.

Encode URL

URL Encoder & Decoder

Prepare a single URL parameter value or inspect a percent-encoded string. Component mode escapes separators such as & and =, while Whole URI mode keeps reserved separators so an existing URI retains its structure. For example, component encoding turns a b+c into a%20b%2Bc and the Turkish letter İ into %C4%B0.

This tool uses JavaScript URI encoding and decoding. Spaces become %20; + is not decoded as a space. Whole URI decoding can retain escaped reserved separators. It does not parse form-query fields or validate a URL’s destination. If decoding fails, check for incomplete percent escapes or invalid encoded bytes.

Features

  • Encode or decode in component or whole-URI mode.
  • Encode Unicode characters and spaces with percent escapes.
  • Preserve reserved URI separators when whole-URI mode is selected.
  • Inspect the result and copy it for use in your application.

How to use

  1. Choose Component for one parameter value, or Whole URI for a complete URI.
  2. Paste the source. Try a b+c in component encoding mode.
  3. Check the result: a%20b%2Bc. To reverse it, select Decode with the same mode.
  4. Copy the output. If your input uses form-style + for spaces, handle that separately rather than assuming this tool does it.
