Timezone Information

Daylight Saving Time (DST)

DST is the practice of setting the clock forward by one hour during the warmer months to extend evening daylight. This affects many timezones around the world.

UTC Offset

The UTC offset shows how many hours and minutes ahead or behind UTC a timezone is. Positive values are ahead of UTC, negative values are behind.

Timezone Abbreviations

Common abbreviations like ET (Eastern Time), GMT (Greenwich Mean Time), and JST (Japan Standard Time) help identify timezones quickly.

Time Zone Converter

Convert a local date and time between the supported IANA zones in the selector, including UTC, Europe/Istanbul, Europe/London, America/New_York and Asia/Tokyo. The result shows the source and target ISO times, offset difference and date difference; popular zones provide a quick current-time comparison.

Daylight-saving transitions can make a local time invalid or ambiguous. Invalid calendar times are rejected; when a time has two possible offsets, choose the offset shown before conversion. The tool uses the browser’s current date/time for Now and the zone data supplied by Luxon. It does not convert every possible IANA zone, so check the selected zone and abbreviation before sharing a result.

Features

  • Convert between the supported IANA time zones with ISO results.
  • Show UTC offset, daylight-saving state and date difference.
  • Handle invalid or ambiguous DST times with an error or offset choice.
  • Use popular-zone snapshots, set Now, swap zones, clear or copy the result.

How to use

  1. Choose the source and target time zones from the selector.
  2. Enter a local date and time, or use Now to fill the source zone’s current value.
  3. If the local time is ambiguous at a DST transition, choose the displayed UTC offset.
  4. Review the converted ISO time and differences, then copy or swap the result.
